"grim, I suggest you keep an eye on the GTA4 PC forums, gtaforums.com is good, lots of people even with crazy fast systems (The fastest DualCores and top end graphics) are finding it hard to get frame rates over 20-25 :/ People are overclocking the latest quadcore CPUs and graphics cards to get 30 fps :/ I've managed to get mine running at around 15fps with the graphic settings set to similar to settings on the console versions. This game seems to need a patch before most people will find it playable. The really odd thing is that adjusting the detail from low (equivalent to the console versions) to medium or high makes virtually no difference on the frame rate!?!?!?!?! Definitely has some problems :/"

"OK, I've been messing around with game settings and I've made a most interesting discovery. Even though the auto configure says my system is shit and sets it to minimum I can manually adjust the graphics up much much higher and the games doesn't go any slower. Thankfully this confirms my original belief that my processor is the bottleneck and not as the game seemed to be suggesting that my whole system was too slow. Phew! I'll have to look in to upgrading and wait till then to play the game. It's no big deal as I was going to upgrade that machine sooner or later :)"

"Well I've found 8% more speed on the CPU bus and 14% more on the PCI-E Bus. This means I'm now up to 12fps at 800x600 with low-medium detail settings. The game then crashed, but I'm hopefully I can trade some of the detail for extra fps, either way it looks like shit :/ Rather than play GTA4 it looks like I'll spend the evening working out what upgrades to buy :\ And can someone please tell Microsoft that most people with a PC DON'T want to use a fucking xBox controller!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How about windows games have the option for other controllers you bastards!!! Fallout 3 for the PC has the same problem!!!!!!!!"

"GTA4 PC Specs Minimum: OS- Vista SP1 / XP SP3 Memory- 1.5Gb Vista / 1Gb XP HD- 16Gb Graphics- NVidia 7900 / 256Mb ATI X1900 CPU- Intel Core2Duo 1.8Ghz / AMD Athlon X2 64 2.4Ghz I'm above all of these except the processor, which with overclocking hits the target. It looks like that if you want the maximum graphics you MUST HAVE 512Mb graphics memory at least :/"

"WTF!?!?! Talk about disappointing :( My pc is above recommended specs for everything on this game except the CPU which is minimum. It plays in a tiny window 800x600 at about 5 fps with all the detail turned off :( Totally unplayable :("

"By energy save bulbs I guess you mean the modern compact fluorescent bulbs (CFL)? I use them all over my house and they save have saved a fortune over the last few years. The other big energy save I have found is to switch off at the wall any electronics devices not in use (satellite receivers, TVs, microwave, etc). A typical satellite reciever consumes 20w of energy when it's on standby. A typical microwave will use more energy in it's life to display the clock than it will cooking food. You can save a lot of energy by just turning stuff off :) Are CFL bulbs common in the USA?"
