"dookie, I don't claim to be a inntelecual, and I certainly know that I'm not! I'm not sure that I even want to have that capacity as most intellectuals are snobby cocky asshole know-it-alls, like you. So no thanks, I'll just keep the retarded brain that I was born with and stand up for what I believe in. You say that I've glazed over the infringement of gay's rights if they are denied being married, and if I have it was unintentional. Let me just take this down to brass tacks: I believe that homosexuality is morally wrong, disgusting, etc,...and I utterly loathe the homosexual agenda. I have nothing against gay people in general, just the destructive agenda that they try to impose upon society. Since I believe that people such as yourself base everything upon emotion and feelings (like your ass-backwards statement that we live in a SOCIETY so we must consider [the feelings of] others. You totally neglect the fact that homosexuality offers NO benefit for society as heterosexual relationships do), I refuse to be a passivist like yourself. I don't care about feelings; if something is wrong it must be stated that it is wrong and something must be done about it regardless of emotions, and feelings, and the bullshit sociological definition of something. I will stand against something that is morally corrupt and dangerous to society. It is NOT inherent upon members of society to consider something that is morally and physically corrupt; that is a self-damning ideology and will only lead to societal decay. I am not infringing on the "rights" or "liberties" of gays, I'm making the case that marriage shouldn't be redefined to suit a very small group of people who choose to be gay and force it upon society. Gay people can live just as much a free life as they want, and no one is taking this away from them by not allowing them to be married! How difficult is that to understand?! Gay people have just a many rights as heterosexual people, no more and no less."

"Oosik, the majority of my previous two posts where mostly directed at dookie. I agree with you that morals change, and mentioned the freeing of slaves and allowing women to vote as examples. But again, men should not have kept slaves nor denied women to vote in the first place, that was morally incorrect. Yes, your explanation for tolerance was fine, but I do not believe that we should be tolerant of something that is morally corrupt. There is a time for tolerance and a time for intolerance, and being intolerant toward the idea of gays being married, I believe, is the correct position to hold. It does not take away their freedom, their rights, or harm them whatsoever to deny their demands (and this is what it really is, "demands," not "rights")."

You claim that by telling someone that his morality is wrong is intolerant and bigoted. I would say that your relativism tolerates all views, that you're moral passivists: good and evil are simply subjective terms to the two of you and you refuse to make moral distinctions. You're both very intelligent, yet your logic is fatally flawed, and here's why: You believe that if there is a right and a wrong it is merely determined by the desired outcome of the situation or that it is determined by the function of the choice of the individual. The fatal flaw in your logic is that you have no reality of an absolute truth or a universal morality. You may deny the fact the there is a universal moral code built within all human beings, but without universal moral principles you could have no goodness, decency or love within your being.
